REDD+ é uma sigla para Redução de Emissão de Gases de Efeito Estufa provenientes de Desmatamento e Degradação Florestal. Esse é um mecanismo global que busca incentivar a conservação das florestas, oferecendo compensações financeiras aos países em desenvolvimento que reduzem suas emissões de gases de efeito estufa provenientes do desmatamento e da degradação florestal. No contexto amazônico, onde a pressão sobre as florestas e os recursos naturais é intensa, o curso é importante para fortalecer o papel das comunidades locais na proteção ambiental e no desenvolvimento sustentável.

Durante o curso, as pessoas participantes terão a oportunidade de aprender sobre os princípios e o funcionamento do REDD+, técnicas de monitoramento florestal, os direitos territoriais das populações tradicionais, além de desenvolverem habilidades em gestão comunitária e adaptação climática.

Na programação do curso, terão videoaulas, seminários online ao vivo e materiais complementares de leitura em temas como mudanças climáticas, legislação e acordos ambientais, impactos da crise climática e soluções participativas.
